matariki day 2021

Last week it was Matariki Day. We got to choose what we wanted to do. I chose Maori games and lanterns. Here is one of my lantern. I am on the right by the way,

We learnt how to weave flax stars. We also learnt some important facts about harvesting flax. You are only allowed to cut off the outer layers. The inner layers are the child and parents. If you cut them the plant will die.
